Zlatan Ibrahimovic explained how he determined to return to Milan in January 2020.
“The first question I was asked when I returned to Milan was that all former players who returned to the club did not meet the standards of the game they had shown before and failed,” quotes Ibrahimovic official Twitter of Milan.
“What is the difference in my case? I just said that I have never lost my passion for what I do. Every time I go out on the field, I feel like a little kid who is eating candy for the first time. I understand that the ball is my best friend, I want to be with my best friend for the rest of my life.”
“Life is a challenge. I felt that I had done enough, and I started to wonder whether I should continue [playing] or not.”
“It was a great challenge for me to come back here to try to change the mentality of the club, to correct the situation and to let the players understand what Milan is. Milan, that I know. Milan, that the whole world knows.”
“I am never satisfied, I always want more. Maybe that is why I am here today. I don’t see many players, both in the past and in the present, who could perform like me. I consider myself Benjamin Button – I’m getting younger every day. I need to feel alive.”
