Yahoo Sports reports, for a second consecutive season Zenit St Petersburg was proclaimed Russian Premier League champions, following a 4-2 victory at Kuban Krasnodar on Sunday.

Sergey Semak’s team now has an unassailable 13-point advantage over second-placed Lokomotiv Moscow, with four rounds to go.

When Zenit pipped the capital city side too, their seventh top-flight win came after the triumph last season.

League top goalscorer Artem Dzyuba on the 17th and Sardar Azmoun, following his team-mate with his 15th total, all contributed to their Krasnodar accounts amid Daniil Utkin’s double for the hosts.

Zenit can add a semi-final against Spartak Moscow to their trophy collection with a Russian Cup set for July 18.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
