Two of the Top Clubs to cut their first-team wages by 30%

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid’s first-team salary will be reduced by 30% for the 2020-21 campaign as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

The global pandemic has a high financial impact on clubs across the globe.

Both Barca and Madrid are going to try to slash salaries by as much as 30%, which might have saved the Spanish champions as much as €230 m (£203 m), According to AS.

The La Liga current season which got terminated due to coronavirus has a possibility to restart behind the closed doors in mid-June. Both the clubs have acceded to cut wages.

With two points ahead of the second-placed Los Blancos in the same number of matches Barca is actually at the top of La Liga, 

Madrid’s previous game was a 2-1 loss at Real Betis on 8 March and the Catalan giants last scored a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad on 7 March.
