Tottenham Hotspur reportedly accomplished the signing of Joe Rodon from Swansea City for a £15million total fee.
With Jose Mourinho’s side, A five-year contract was signed by the Wales international defender.
Swansea signed Ryan Bennett from Wolves as Rodon’s replacement on a three-year deal.
For Swansea, since breaking into the first team during the 2018-19 season, Rodon, who had previously been linked with West Ham, has played 52 Championship games.
He’s the eighth signing of a busy transfer window for Mourin for Spurs, who face West Ham on Sunday in the Premier League.
In addition to making Giovani Lo Celso’s move from Real Betis permanent, Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Carlos Vinicius, Joe Hart, and Gareth Bale have also been signed by Spurs.
The signing of Rodon takes their reported transfer expenditure to a little less than £ 100 million, less than seven months after their initial decision to impose a 20 percent pay cut on 550 employees due to the coronavirus pandemic’s financial impact.
Following criticism, Spurs announced in April that for April and May, all employees, including those placed on furlough, would receive 100 percent of their salary and that the board would take wage cuts instead.
Meanwhile, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Spurs defender has moved to Bournemouth for the rest of the 2020-21 season on loan.
