Ten Hag says cant force Jadon Sancho to make an early return. Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has acknowledged that he cannot pressure Jadon Sancho into making an early return to the first team. The English attacker has been participating in solitary training in the Netherlands since early November, which has kept him out of the Red Devils’ matchday squad.

Sancho, 22, has been taking part in a program for physical and mental health in an effort to get back in shape. Ten Hag emphasized that he wouldn’t press for Sancho to return too soon even though he had returned to Carrington after the course.

According to the manager of Manchester United (via Fabrizio Romano): “Footballers aren’t machines. He is back in Carrington, which demonstrates his growth and readiness for the following round. Jadon has to come back as soon as possible, please. However, some processes are impossible to force, and this is one of them”.

Sancho, one of Europe’s most exciting offensive talents, moved to United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a reported £73 million transfer fee. In 137 games for BvB, he scored 50 goals and contributed 64 assists while playing with players like Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland.

He hasn’t been able to maintain the level of play that earned him praise while he was at Signal Iduna Park, though. This season, the English attacker has played in 14 games across all competitions, with three goals and one assist.

Manchester United supporters are hoping that his time away will enable him to regain the form that led many to think he would be a huge success at Old Trafford.
