Donny van de Beek can be used as an alternative to Marcus Rashford on the left of the attacking trident of Manchester United, indicated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
On the back of a 3-0 Carabao Cup victory over Brighton, Solskjaer told reporters on Van de Beek: “I think he can play lots of different positions, which is strength for a player.”
“I recall myself being sometimes right-wing, left-wing, center forward, 10 and I think Donny is one of the guys who the coach would really love to see in their squad.”
“He has very, very high intelligence in footballing.”
“He went through the Ajax system, Dutch football is tactical. He knows football and after all the talks I’ve had with him you can see that he’s screwed his head on.”
“Compared to Dan James and Marcus Rashford, of course, he is a different form of left-sided player. But coming in, finding nice pockets, making good runs, well why not.”
