Manchester United center-back, Chris Smalling may also spend the campaign 2020-21 on loan with Roma, according to the news.
Making 28 appearances in all competitions, the 30-year-old inspired the Italian outfit, since he joined Roma on loan last summer in the 2019-20 season.
The Serie A giants have said they want to recruit the Englishman on a continuing agreement on a number of occasions, but it is known that they will fail to agree to an agreement with United.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, with Paulo Fonseca’s side for the rest of the 2019-20 season, Smalling is likely to have its current loan contract extended.
However, ensuring once again that the Italian side would cover his wages, the former non-league defender will also spend the next term with Roma, states the sources.
Until the summer of 2022 Smalling’s contract is set to run at Old Trafford.
