WBA will host Chelsea on Saturday at 18:30 in the 3rd round of the Premiership.
At the start of the season, Slaven Bilic’s team recorded two heavy defeats from Leicester 3: 0 and from Everton 5: 2.
The WBA looked solid in attack in those games, but a poor game in defense cost him defeat.
“Of course it’s not easy for us because everything happened quickly. We only recently entered the league, and last season we lost seven of 46 games. Now everything is different and we want to stop this decline, and we can only do that if we stay positive. We can criticize , we can be angry, but we must not allow ourselves to lose heart. That is the task of me and my associates,” Slaven Bilic told for Express and Star ahead of the meeting with Chelsea, adding:
“We lost 5: 2 to Everton, but there were a lot of good things in our game. Everything turned around after the red card, but until then we played well and we were dangerous. Of course after losing 5: 2 you can’t talk too much about positive things, but the game from the first half should be a signpost for us. We were brave, we were scattered and so we must continue. We must not make stupid mistakes in defense and get such red cards. But it’s just the beginning of the season and still, a lot of good things can happen,” he said.
Bilic’s opponent is the team that has invested 250 million euros in new players this season.
“It’s amazing what kind of players Lampard managed to bring in, but it’s a big club and that’s what big clubs do. I don’t think it will take them long to click under Lampard and Chelsea fans can hope to fight for titles,” Bilic said.
Ahmed Hegazi is returning to his team after he recovered from injury, and Bilić announced that Filip Krovinović will soon join the team on another loan.
“I was told at the club that this should be resolved by the end of the week,” Bilic said.
