Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta was praised by Shkodran Mustafi as a “professor” and congratulated the Spaniard for uniting the Gunners, with Mesut Ozil being one of the buyings into a modern way of thinking.
The north London giants find themselves going backward after an unrestrained start to the 2019-20 season.
A fellow countryman was named in his place before the decision to part with his services had been made.
Mustafi also directed that the Gunners have a better future lies in store.
“He’s kind of a professor,” The German defender told his boss to Sky Sports.
“He understands where he needs the players to be when they are on the pitch, and how to respond when they lose the match.”
“When I pass I usually just think of where to go if we drop the ball but he needs me to make an offensive effort too. So we must always give a choice on the ball to the player.”
“When you are 28 years old and you compete for other coaches in other countries you believe you know everything but then he comes in and there are things I never learned before.”
