In the second round of the Serie A match, Napoli claimed a 2-1 away win over Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris stadium. From the starting whistle, Salvatore Sirigu had a lot of work to do denying Lozano and Insigne’s shots one after another. However, the opening goal was scored six minutes before the break when Fabian Ruiz hit the net for Napoli.
After the break, the hosting team took the lead quite actively with Goran Pandev scoring the equalizer. However, after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed. Genoa continued to put pressure anyway and restored the parity with a stunner from Andrea Cambiaso who buried the ball into the bottom left corner.
With just 6 minutes remaining Luciano Spalletti’s men barely made it 2-1 football score as Andrea Petagna scored a beautiful header placing the team third in the Serie A table right before the international break.
