In Argentina’s win over Uruguay, Lionel Messi came on as a late substitute and will almost certainly play against Brazil on Tuesday. According to Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni, Lionel Messi will undoubtedly play in Argentina’s World Cup qualifier football match against Brazil.
When the opposing nations meet in San Juan on Tuesday, it will be the first time they have met since Argentina’s 1-0 victory in the Copa America final earlier this year. Brazil leads the CONMEBOL rankings with 34 points, six more than Scaloni’s team, which defeated Uruguay on Friday.
On Monday Scaloni told reporters “It is confirmed that Messi will play tomorrow.” On the challenge his team face, Scaloni said according to Goal: “This Brazilian team is one of the most direct in recent times. They have already qualified for the World Cup, and we know how difficult this game is going to be.”
“You have to always play the same, it is not worth it for me that a player of mine plays in one way against Venezuela and another against Brazil. Football is always the same regardless of the rival,” he continued.
“I don’t think the rest of the rivals in the qualifiers are less than Brazil. They are all very difficult games. There are always things to correct. Our goal is that the players do not relax, that they know that there are things to improve,” Scaloni added.
