Indicating that their defense of the Premier League is still very much intact, the double of Mo Salah led Liverpool to a 3-1 West Ham United win.

The arrival of replacement Curtis Jones quickly gave the Reds an impetus when he moved on to Salah on the right side of the box and curled in typical fashion inside the far post and Liverpool dominated the first half without generating obvious opportunities.

Georginio Wijnaldum made it three after Roberto Firmino squared the ball to him six yards out and then Craig Dawson poked home a corner from close range for a consolation.

As Jones played the ball around the field to Xherdan Shaqiri, who curved the ball behind the West Ham defense for the first time, the second goal was a sublime counter-attack goal as Salah brought the ball down beautifully with his right foot before sneaking past Lukasz Fabianski with his left.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
