On Thursday night Manchester United defeated Arsenal on a 3-2 match score. Immediately after the final whistle interim coach Michael Carrick announced his decision to leave the football club. The Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo helped Red Devils in the victory against Gunners netting two goals. With this, he reached another milestone of passing the 800 goals mark, and following the football match, Ronaldo sent a congratulatory message to his teammates.

“Our minds are already set on the next game, there’s no time to celebrate! Today’s win was very important to get back on track, but there’s still a long road to go until we reach our destination… Congrats to all my teammates, great spirit tonight,” scoring his 801st goal against Mikel Arteta’s side, Ronaldo tweeted a message for his teammates.

Carrick spoke at length after the decision he was leaving Man United was announced on the club’s official website. Speaking to Amazon, he said: “It’s not been an easy one [decision] to make but I think it’s the right one. I wanted to take some time off after I played and I promised my family and it never happened. I have thrown myself into work here for so long and it feels like the right time to step away. I will be back around the place though.”

He added: “Yeah, it’s 100 percent my decision. We’ve worked so hard to try to bring some success here in recent years, and it’s difficult when you don’t quite get to those heights. But I’ll have great memories of working with great people.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
