Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman says despite the fact that Lionel Messi asked to leave the club at the end of last year, his behavior this season is perfect.
“He does everything I expect from a player and a captain. When I became a coach I went to his house to talk about the future. He made it clear that he was dissatisfied. In the end, everything turned out well, and since he said he would stay, he is perfect”, Koeman said in an interview for AS.
Scoring one goal, in his first 4-0 win against Villarreal, Messi has so far started and played all 90 minutes in three La Liga games this season.
Recall, after last season the Catalan ended in a debacle and defeat by Bayern in the quarterfinals of 8-2, Messi soon demanded to leave due to saturation and poor management of the club.
While Messi has said he will stay for more this season, he has not commented on anything he will do when his contract expires next summer.
