Tottenham Hotspur will face Rennes in Europa Conference League Group G on Thursday evening as both are looking to rebound from demoralizing league defeats at the weekend. While Spurs’ unbeaten start to the season came to an end with a 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, Les Rouge et Noir were defeated 2-0 at home by Reims last time out. Here is everything you need to know about Rennes vs Tottenham football prediction, team news, and lineup for the UEFA Conference League match of the season.

Team news

Rennes

For this game, Rennes will be without three players including exciting winger Jeremy Doku, who has a hamstring injury.

Kamaldeen Sulemana should be recalled to the left side in Terrier’s absence while Loic Bade returns from a domestic suspension and should replace Warmed Omari in the hosts’ backline.

Genesio lost Alfred Gomis (quarantine), Birger Meling (adductor), and Lovro Majer (hip), before the defeat to Reims and it would be surprising to see any of the trio line up on Thursday.

Tottenham

Spurs may field a sort of scratch XI here as Nuno has a number of injury concerns for this game, and he is also missing his South American contingent.

Due to quarantine regulations, Tottenham is still without Davinson Sanchez, Cristian Romero, and Giovani Lo Celso, and Tanganga’s dismissal at Selhurst Park has no bearing on European matches.

Son Heung-min, Ryan Sessegnon, and Steven Bergwijn are also unlikely to return from injury, while Eric Dier is also expected to miss out after being injured against Palace.

Rennes vs Tottenham Prediction

In the Europa Conference League group stages, this match may be Tottenham’s toughest test but it’s one they should pass.

Rennes have been without their best player Eduardo Camavinga also in recent weeks they haven’t been in great form

Tottenham can make this game difficult for themselves, especially if they struggle to create chances, but their overall quality should lead to a win.

Both Rennes and Tottenham are expected to finish first and second in this group, but we cannot separate them on this occasion and anticipate a score draw on Thursday.

Lineup

Rennes possible starting lineup: Salin; Traore, Aguerd, Bade, Truffert; Santamaria, Bourigeaud, Tait; Laborde, Guirassy, Sulemana

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup: Gollini; Doherty, Rodon, Tanganga, Davies; Skipp, Ndombele, Winks; Clarke, Lucas, Gil

Our Prediction: Rennes 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
