Red Card for Tony Watt in Dundee United vs Motherwell. Following a VAR review, Tony Watt was dismissed in‘s 1-0 loss to Motherwell. The Tannadice club has appealed the judgment, and the conclusion will be decided at a fast-track hearing on November 2. The Scottish FA has received an appeal from Dundee United about Tony Watt’s dismissal from Saturday’s loss to Motherwell. Following a VAR review of a challenge he made on Sean Goss, the striker was dismissed.
Just before halftime in their 1-0 loss at Tannadice, United was unhappy with the decision. Manager Liam Fox afterward claimed that Beaton was unable to see enough various perspectives of the challenge. According to the video the referee has viewed, I think we can all agree that it appears to be a red card, Fox stated on Saturday. But I’ve also seen some other video that raises some serious questions about it.
It was viewed from a different viewpoint, and Tony Watt is seen drawing his leg back with barely any contact on the player. After viewing the video that the referee and the VAR have viewed, I’m pretty sure that it is a red card. It is somewhat of a debatable topic, but I have also seen further material from various sources that may cast a shadow of doubt over it. United will find out this Wednesday at a fast-track tribunal hearing if the appeal was successful.
