Lucas Vazquez, a Real Madrid utility player, has warned the club that he will not wait much longer for them to meet his contract demands.

In the summer the 29-year-old, who plays primarily as a winger but has recently spent more time as a backup right-back, will be out of contract, and negotiations for a new contract have dragged on for what seems like an eternity.

Starting 23 of his 26 games Vazquez has been a key member of Zinedine Zidane’s team this season, and he wants a raise to reflect his importance to the team, according to ABC.

Real are urging Vazquez to reduce his pay by about ten percent, as they’ve requested of everyone in the squad since the COVID-19 outbreak, but he wants a 15% raise in pay, but the club is refusing to even come close to that.

Real don’t see a way to agree to Vazquez’s demands after players like Luka Modric, Casemiro, Martin Odegaard, and Luka Jovic have already agreed to pay cuts, so talks about a new contract have come to a halt.
