Thiago Courtois needed a fine display to make sure they stick on for three points as the goals of Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema sealed victory for Real Madrid at Levante.

In order to handle a corner that came to him at the edge of the penalty area, the Brazilian striker was given an age to allow him to turn on his right foot and curl into the top corner.

Levante came closest to having a second goal while Real dominated most of the first half when Nikola Vukcevic headed against the post.

When Luka Modric’s interception took him one-on-one from the edge of the box just after half-time but he fired against the box, Benzema could have done better.

In the final half-hour, it was all Levante and Courtois had to be at his sharpest to deny a variety of attempts, particularly one from Carlos Clerc.

Benzema made amends for his earlier mistake when he added a second goal in stoppage time to seal the draw.

With three wins from four games, the victory puts Real on the top of the table.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
