Real Madrid announced no players have infected COVID-19

No Real Madrid players have contracted COVID-19, the club announced despite rumors that a team member has tested positive for coronavirus.

After Madrid’s goalless draw with Real Sociedad, midfielder Martin Odegaard reportedly returned a favorable test the news emerged on Tuesday but Real Madrid has confirmed that no positive coronavirus has been verified by players or staff members.

The 21-year-old took part in training on Tuesday and was also in close contact with the players of Sociedad at the weekend.

However, to confirm that no COVID-19 was contracted by members of their team, Madrid issued a statement on their official website on Wednesday.

“Real Madrid communicates after the latest COVID-19 tests carried out on our first football team and their coaching staff, all the results have been negative,” the statement read.
