Real Betis concede three similar goals as Atletico Madrid run out 3-1 winners at the Benito Villamarin.

Felix’s opening goal after 120 seconds was cancelled out in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time by Tello’s sweet side-footed effort.

The hosts were unable to carry the momentum into the second period. Still, Felix could double his tally with a second goal a quarter-hour after the restart, taking up a similar position to his first strike and getting on the end of Llorente’s assist.

Insult was added to injury 10 minutes when Greizmann’s dazzling dribbling display took him, past defenders.

And provided him with the time and space to tee Lemar up for the game’s third goal for Atleti.

The critical win takes Simeone’s side up into fourth while Real Betis drop to fifth.

Starting Lineup:

REAL BETIS XI (4-2-3-1): Claudio Bravo;

Andres Guardado, Victor Ruiz, Marc Bartra, Youssouf Sabaly;

William Carvalho, Paul Akoukou; Joaquin, Nabil Fekir, Aitor Ruibal;

Borja Iglesias.

ATLETICO MADRID XI (5-3-2): Jan Oblak;

Sime Vrsaljko, Felipe, Jose Gimenez, Reinildo, Renan Lodi;

Marcos Llorente, Hector Herrera, Rodrigo De Paul;

Angel Correa, Joao Felix.

ATLETI TAKE THE LEAD AFTER TWO MINUTES! 1-0! Simeone couldn’t have asked for a better start with Correa breaking into the penalty area on the right-wing after Vrsaljko’s headed flick-on meets a long Oblak free-kick. However, Felix takes up a position six yards from goal and receives the pass from his strike partner, redirecting it past Bravo with a first-time strike.

WHAT A HIT! 1-1! Tello unleashes a fantastic strike, getting onto the ball 20 yards from goal after Sabaly’s possession-winning tackle and hitting a first-time curling effort that cruises past a sprawling Oblak.

ATLETICO MADRID RETAKE THE LEAD! 2-1! In a similar goal to the opener, Llorente plays the role of Correa – charging into the penalty area on the right and consequently centring a pass across the face of the goal for Felix, who tucks it home.

ATLETICO MADRID, SEAL THE RESULT! 3-1! Another similar goal to the other two, with Griezmann displaying his dribbling abilities on the touchline to get past two defenders before striding into the penalty area and pulling a pass back for Lemar – who uses his side foot to push it into the net.

So, where else do Real Betis and Atletico Madrid go from here?

Real Betis feature again on Wednesday in the Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of a meeting with Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
