During his days at Manchester United Academy, Wayne Rooney evaluated Paul Pogba below Ravel Morrison.
Rooney claimed that Morrison had more aptness than Jesse Lingard and Pogba, likes when they tried to surpass into the first team of the United.
Morrison has failed to make the switch to professional ranks by already accumulating 11 clubs by the age of 27, while Pogba has advanced into one of the world’s biggest football stars.
“I remember watching Ravel Morrison thinking he had everything he needed for a player in his position. In one training game, he nutmegged Nemanja Vidic three times within a minute.
“But he struggled with lifestyle and his environment which was sad for him because I saw Paul Pogba coming through, Jesse Lingard, all these players, and Ravel were better than any of them in a country mile.”
“He’s proof that you can’t escape the fact that there are guidelines every player has to obey in professional football,” Rooney said speaking to The Times.
Morrison made only three substitute appearances for United, all of which came in the EFL Cup.
