Raphael Varane, Real Madrid and France defender has addressed his thoughts about PSG striker Kylian Mbappe and his absentee rivalry with Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.
“Mbappe is still young but has already made incredible progress and continues to evolve. He is becoming a more and more accomplished player and remains a great striker. He is one of the best,” said Varane to Marca.
“I aspire to play alongside the best players and Kylian is one of the best players in Europe.”
“I think Messi and Ronaldo are outstanding examples. And they already have a special place in football history. But I think Kylian has the qualities to leave a mark among his generation and make football history.”
This season, Mbappe has scored 20 goals and made six assists in 25 Ligue 1 games.
