To play a major part in the Blues’ bid for the top four finish in the Premier League, Chelsea’s manager Frank Lampard supported Christian Pulisic’s “hunger” after the forward scored a 2-1 victory at Aston Villa on Sunday.
In the 55th minute, he sent Pulisic and five minutes later, the United States international dropped when Cesar Azpilicueta slammed into the roof of the net.
Lampard is optimistic that he’ll be a significant participant in the run-in, and since New Year’s Day, Pulisic played his first game after returning from injury.
“He’s going to start games for us, of course, and I think he’s going to be a big player for us, not just in this run-in, but going forward,” he said at his press conference.
“The ability he has to get in the box is a big thing, I’ve been talking about it all season with him.”
