The French champions smashed Angers 6-1 and climbed to second, while Alessandro Florenzi scored his first goal for Paris Saint-Germain.
Angers best shot of the night went to Stephane Bahoken, who was going wide from near range when he really could have scored.
Angers didn’t beat PSG in 45 years in their sixth straight Ligue 1 season.
That was as good for the visitors as the victory for PSG was never in doubt. A marvelous dipping volley from the corner of the penalty box, Florenzi ’s early strike set the stage for the hosts.
With Kylian Mbappe ’s excellent change of pace helping the Frenchman to dash through two defenders and bring it back to Neymar, whose left-foot shot thundered through the underside of the bar for the first time, PSG’s second arrived only as Angers developed into the match.
Neymar jumped on a loose ball to make it 3-0 soon after the restart, but Ismael Traore’s towering header at the far post pulled one back.
The amazing Ait Nouri may have narrowed the gap to a single goal, but instead, PSG punished them on the break, with Julian Draxler completing a brutal counter-attack.
Mbappe put the icing on the cake with a casually taken sixth and shortly after coming off the bench, replacement Idrissa Gueye added a deflected fifth.
At least until Saturday, PSG is raising up to second, with the Rennes League leaders playing on Sunday.
