In the semi-finals of the Champions League held at Lisbon, PSG defeated Leipzig 3-0 with goals from Marquinhos, Di Maria, and Bernat and entered the final for the first time in history.

PSG will face the winner of the match Bayern – Lyon, on Sunday

Already in the 6th minute, Neymar broke out alone in front of Gulacsi, but he hit the post in a clear chance. But PSG still managed to break the Germans at the opening. In the 13th minute, Neymar got a free-kick from the left, Di Maria scored perfectly, and Marquinhos headed for 1: 0.

Thomas Tuchel’s team played a fantastic game and just by chance did not cram Leipzig’s goal to the top.

The French squeezed Leipzig’s defense high, which made a lot of mistakes and panicked, and Gulacsi took the lead off Mbappe in the 17th minute. When Poulsen sent a good cross by Laimer near the goal, Leipzig had the only real chance in the 25th minute.

In the 35th minute, Neymar tried to surprise Gulacsi from a free-kick. The cunning Brazilian shot directly into the goal, while the Leipzig goalkeeper expected a cross from 35 meters diagonally, but this time the goalpost saved Leipzig.

When they didn’t score all that, the Parisians solved the match in the 42nd minute. Gulacsi, who had defended everything until then, catastrophically shot the ball at Herrera’s feet. Two minutes later, Mbappe escaped two PSG players and found Neymar, who shot near the goal in a great situation, before the Spaniard scored in the middle where Neymar found Di Maria with an incredible assist, and he routinely scored for 2: 0.

Thus, in the first half Leipzig sustained as much as possible, so in the restoration, they went more resolute towards the goal of PSG. Nagelsmann’s team squeezed well, but they received the third goal in the phase of their good game. In the 56th minute, Mukiele fell at his goal-out line. Bernat headed the ball into the goal for a great 3-0 and all Leipzig players demanded a foul, Di Maria scored.

However, it cost them a second goal, the Leipzig players can be appreciative to Gulacsi for not enduring a real disaster until the end. Mbappe is the highest in the jump, in the 70th minute, but he shoots near the goal, and two minutes later he breaks out alone in front of Gulacsi, but he also takes off that line. In the 80th minute, Gulacsi took a great shot from Di Maria, and then from Neymar. Mbappe headed towards him in the 82nd minute, and in a desire to break the ball, Leipzig’s stopper hit the Frenchman in the leg. The ball went towards the goal, but Gulacsi saved the goal with a great reaction.

PSG played a great game and at no point did their victory come into question. It’s amazing that they missed it all, but they took advantage of all the mistakes of Leipzig’s defense and got one step closer to what the Qatari sheiks have been dreaming of since taking over the club.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
