Mohamed Salah scored twice as Liverpool thumped Everton 4-1 in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Wednesday. In last night’s Premier League match result, hosts Everton lost 1-4 to Liverpool, who stayed two points behind leaders Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp’s side produced another top-class performance away at Goodison Park yesterday.
And their Egyptian forward Salah has taken his tally for the domestic league season to 13 goals in 14 games.
Plus, as a whole, Liverpool are now averaging more than three goals per game. Impressively, they have found the net 43 times so far in this campaign.
That’s 10 goals more than even league leaders Chelsea, who are only the second most prolific side in goal scoring.
Moreover, Liverpool are in third place on 31 points, a point behind Manchester City and just two adrift of leaders Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Everton slipped to 14th place, five points above the relegation zone. And their fans protested against their club’s board after booing the team at the final whistle.

A beautiful, curling shot from Jordan Henderson put Liverpool ahead at 9 minutes, before the midfielder also set up Salah.
Henderson sent a fine through ball to Salah, who provided a clinical finish to make it 2-0.
Everton were seemingly on the ropes but they found a way back into the game seven minutes before the break.
Demarai Gray, after good work from his teammate, Brazilian Richarlison, scored the only Everton goal in the match.
The home side persisted in trying to equalize but Liverpool put the contest beyond their reach soon.
Salah whisked the ball away from Seamus Coleman and by providing the coolest of finishes, secured his brace for 1-3.
Then, finally, Diogo Jota completed the rout with an outstanding finish. The Portuguese forward spun away from Allan, with a brilliant turn, before blasting past Jordan Pickford’s near post.
“The message from the manager was that they will play physically strong and go 100% for every ball we just had to play our game and try to create chances, which we did,” said Salah.
