Everton defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the English Premier League (EPL) to register their first win in the last eight matches, thanks to a last-minute goal from Demarai Gray. Arsenal took the lead but in the injury time (45 + 2 minutes) of the first half of the football match. After the interval, the scoreboard was 1-0 but 10 minutes before the final whistle Richarlison leveled the score. Until 90 minutes the results were 1-1 but in the second minute of injury time of the second half, Gray scored the winning goal.
However, in the first half, Martin Odegaard gave Arsenal the lead with a goal from Kieran Tierney. Arsenal could not maintain the lead in the second half and in the 80th minute for Everton, Richarlison scored through a header from the center box to level the team. After this, in injury time, Gray hit a right footed shot on the pass of Andre Gomes which went straight into the goal post. Everton defeated Arsenal on the basis of this important goal. However, Gray was also shown a yellow card for over-celebration.
After the match ended on 2-1 match score Everton fans celebrated inside the stadium. Earlier, some Everton supporters left the stadium, after 27 minutes of play, boycotting the match in protest against club officials. Everton has not won the trophy for the last 27 years. This is Arsenal’s second consecutive defeat, previously they lost a match to Manchester United by 3-2 on Thursday.
