Liverpool aims to win the second game in a row in the 2021-22 Champions League as they will face Porto on Tuesday evening at the Estadio do Dragao. Sergio Conceicao’s side began their European campaign with a goalless draw against Atletico Madrid, while the Reds defeated AC Milan 3-2 at Anfield. Here is everything you need to know about Porto vs Liverpool football prediction for the Champions League match of the season.

Team news

Porto

Chancel Mbemba received red card in Madrid two weeks ago and has been suspended, and with Pepe doubtful, Ivan Mercano could partner Fabio Cardoso at the back.

Agustin Marchesin is nearing a return to fitness, but Sergio Conceicao is expected to stick with Diogo Costa following his penalty save against Gil Vicente on Friday.

Marko Grujic is available and should get the start against his former club.

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp is missing midfield trio Naby Keita, Thiago, and Harvey Elliott, but Neco Williams will be evaluated but is unlikely to start.

Klopp may make some changes for the weekend’s match against Manchester City, with Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas, and Ibrahima Konate all expected to play.

For the final midfield spot Curtis Jones and James Milner are vying, which will be shared by Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Porto vs Liverpool prediction

Porto secured a 2-1 victory at Gil Vicente on Friday night and will be hoping to hold Liverpool on Tuesday night after a 0-0 draw in Madrid earlier this month.

On Saturday, the Reds were punished for their frivolity with a 3-3 draw at Brentford. In the title race they didn’t lose ground because other results went their way, and the stalemate meant they, like Porto, remained unbeaten.

Porto is a tough nut to crack this season, both domestically and on the continent, and their home record in the group stages speaks for itself, but some forced defensive changes could hurt them this week.

Klopp cannot afford to take any of the Group B games lightly, and must also consider the upcoming visit of Manchester City, but we believe a rotated Reds side will still have enough firepower to come away with all three points in a close game.

Lineup

Porto possible starting lineup: Costa; Corona, Cardoso, Marcano, Wendell; Otavio, Oliveira, Grujic, Diaz; Taremi, Martinez

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Gomez, Tsimikas; Henderson, Fabinho, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Minamino

Our Prediction: Porto 1-2 Liverpool

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
