Italy won the UEFA Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday by defeating England in a penalty shootout. Italy won the shootout 3–2 with a score of 1–1 in extra time. Earlier in the day, Luke Shaw gave England an early lead, with Leonardo Bonucci equalizing in the second half. Italy received praises from all over the world and players also react to their Euro 2020 win.
Italian captain Giorgio Chiellini took over Twitter to tweet about Italy’s win after 52 years. He wrote: “The result is only part of the game but this result, this victory, these tears of joy are dedicated to you. We made history! FORZA AZZURRI”

Juventus forward Federico Chiesa on Instagram posted a picture of him kissing the trophy writing Champions in Italian with his nation’s flag icon in the caption.
Italy’s 2006 FIFA World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro took to Instagram to post a video of his country’s trophy celebrations. He captioned it in Italian, which translates as “we are European champions”. In the video, Italian captain Giorgio Chiellini can be seen receiving the trophy and then celebrating with his teammates.
Meanwhile the Turin club Juve took to their official Instagram handle to praise its players who led the Italian team towards the Euro Cup title. “THE #AZZURRI HAVE DONE IT! THEY’VE WON #EURO2020! 👏 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BIANCONERI FAB FOUR”
Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci has published a picture with the trophy from his victory over England in the Euro 2020 final. He is seen lying in bed with the trophy, with Giorgio Chiellini next to him. “Don’t worry, sleep well. We are guarding you,” Bonucci wrote. UEFA has named Leonardo Bonucci the best player of the Euro 2020 final Italy v England.
It is also worth noting that this is Italy’s second Euro title, and that would be good news for Roberto Mancini, given his 34-game unbeaten run. Meanwhile, England is expected to make a comeback in the 2022 FIFA World Cup trophy and present a serious challenge.
