According to Guardiola, Phillips will make his Man City comeback against Chelsea, giving England a boost going into the World Cup. The Carabao Cup match between Manchester City and Chelsea will include England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to manager Pep Guardiola.

Phillips is expected to make a comeback, and Guardiola has good news for England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of the World Cup. The midfielder hasn’t played since sustaining a shoulder injury in September, but he’ll be in the lineup this week against Chelsea. Guardiola does not yet know when Kyle Walker, Phillips’ teammate at Manchester City and in England, will be available.

They are feeling considerably better, according to Kalvin, who told reporters that yesterday was the second day he had completed a full training session while in contact with us. He will be on the bench against Chelsea, though I’m not sure if he will play or not. Better still is Kalvin. Although Kyle’s surgery was performed later than Kalvin’s, he told me that he is doing well.

On November 10, Southgate is anticipated to announce the England team, and he must make a choice regarding Phillips. The former Leeds player might now be able to play, but his lack of game time will be a problem. Walker’s availability will also be hoped upon by Southgate, especially after Ben Chilwell was ruled out and Reece James was also predicted to miss the tournament. The club will play Chelsea on Wednesday before hosting Brentford the following Saturday in the Premier League.
