Manchester City is in a hunt for a striker and they are targeting Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur. City coach Pep Guardiola seemed to be uninterested in discussing a potential move for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, as Manchester City is still looking for a striker.

He dismissed the idea of the Polish forward leaving Bayern Munich as a solution to Manchester City’s striker problem. City should be able to compete creatively against Norwich in the second Premier League football match even without De Bruyne, having signed Jack Grealish for a British record fee of £100 million.

On the other hand, Guardiola’s men remain light up front, with a move for Harry Kane so far failing to materialize and Sergio Aguero departed for Barcelona at the end of the last season. Reports this week of Lewandowski’s dissatisfaction at Bayern Munich, Guardiola’s former club, sparked speculation about interest.

Guardiola does not see Lewandowski joining the Premier League anytime soon however it could be a productive partnership. According to Manchester Evening News football news, as the news conference opened on Robert Lewandowski, Pep replied, “Next question. Listen, Lewy is a so important player for Bayern Munich. He will stay in Bayern Munich.”

“I’m not going to talk to you and your colleagues today, with 11 days left, about the transfer market. I don’t know what’s going to happen, nobody knows. Tomorrow we have a game, prepare for the Arsenal game when we finish. When we come back after the international break, we’ll have all the squad to fight for every game in the season,” Pep added.

Guardiola would be “more than happy” with his City squad even if neither Kane nor an alternative like Lewandowski were signed. “It’s the same team, except Sergio for Jack Grealish, that we had last season,” he explained.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
