Former Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince has discoursed about the teams’ 0-0 game in the 19th round of the Premier League.
“You could see Manchester United’s game plan from the first whistle – they defended very, very deep. Thought Man United were very bad in the first half,” noted Ince to talkSport.
“I remember a few years ago when Mourinho brought Man United to Anfield and parked the bus. He just got slaughtered for it. That’s exactly what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did in the first half.”
“Everyone thought that Man Utd would be defensive and rely on their fast players, like Martial and Rashford, to counterattack. However, I played for Manchester United.
You just don’t go to Anfield to play defensively. It was an opportunity for Manchester United to show what they are all about. However, they just sat deep in defense, that disappoints me.”
