A last-minute goal from Jesse Lingard saved a victory for Manchester United against West Ham with 2-1 football results in Premier League. Michael Owen has identified a reason why Jesse Lingard ‘let himself down’ after scoring the game-winning goal for Manchester United against West Ham at the London Stadium.

According to Michael Owen, Jesse Lingard “let himself down,” after scoring the game-winning goal for Manchester United against his former club West Ham. The game was played on Sunday at the London Stadium and with just minutes remaining in their Premier League match, England forward scored a spectacular goal, which he called home for six months last season. The 28-year-old ran off to celebrate but quickly raised his hands to acknowledge his time at the club, which irritated Owen.

According to Daily Star football news, Owen told Premier League Productions: “The finish is absolutely sublime. The only thing that is poor about the whole scenario is that he doesn’t celebrate. I can’t believe players don’t celebrate when they score a goal against their old club, he was only there two minutes.”

“If he didn’t want to score if he’s not that happy don’t pull the trigger, pass the ball, if that’s the case. It’s the only thing that lets him down there because everything else is absolutely spectacular,” added Owen, who famously joined United after spells with Newcastle and Real Madrid, after establishing himself as a hero to Liverpool fans at Anfield.

In just 16 league appearances for the Hammers, the winger scored nine goals and created five more for his teammates, helping the club qualify for the Europa League.

Lingard told MUTV of his muted celebration: “They supported me in the loan spell and gave me a great reception, so it was only right to pay them back. It was a great reception from the West Ham fans. I had a brilliant time here, but I had to do my bit.”

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
