Aaron Wan-Bissaka boasts the “never-say-die mentality” on which the Red Devils pride themselves thus he is “tailor-made” for Manchester United, claims former youth coach Colin Omogbehin, the full-back.

Omogbehin argues that this has been the case for some time now, the grassroots club Junior Elite in London first noticed the skill of Wan-Bissaka and then Palace.

The success of Wan-Bissaka doesn’t amaze Omogbehin. He told the Manchester Evening News about a player he’s worked within youth football and the Palace Academy: “He ’s got a fantastic never give up mentality, never-say-die.”

“He’s very hungry, he’s worked for every possibility he’s given-it’s never been handed over to him. Even at Crystal Palace there was a time when they weren’t sure about him and he had to come through that period, around 13, 14 years old.”

“He has that fighting ability whenever required. I’ve already seen this type of character and they usually have a long career in the game. Because they are focused and driven every day – not just a few days – this is why they end up playing every week because they can be trusted by the manager.”
