Erling Haaland scored a superb hat-trick as Norway hammered Romania 4-0 in Oslo in Group 1 and in UEFA Nations League B Group 4 game in Dublin on Sunday, Ireland held on for a tough 0-0 draw at home to Wales.

An unidentified player who tested positive for the virus and four more who were considered to be close contacts were also stood down, however, forwards Adam Idah and Aaron Connolly were already withdrawn and the Irish had to tackle the loss of seven players to COVID-19 precautions.

With the sides equally balanced, Ireland’s Shane Long and Daryl Horgan had the best opportunities in the second half. A red card for winger James McClean, nevertheless, further hindered the home side seven minutes from time and the match ended in a draw.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
