Spain’s LaLiga pushed towards a potential resumption, and major European league to be canceled after a political interference on Tuesday.

No sporting activities, even those behind closed doors, will be permitted before September, declared French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, spitting expectations of the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

The country’s top two divisions will end their seasons early due to the coronavirus pandemic by following the example of the Dutch Eredivisie.

The Spanish Government has taken a different course, by setting new dates for vocational training to be revived as part of a four-stage program to emerge from the lockdown, aligning itself with its Italian counterpart.

Officials hoped that the teams would be able to proceed within 15 days after arrangements were made prior this month for the league to start between June 17 and July 25.

Players will be allowed to use the facility on an individual basis as of May 4 along with group sessions from May 11

As with Serie A, there is no news of future start dates for competitive action.

“The 2019-2020 season of professional sports, including football, will not be able to resume. Said French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.
