Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has put a brake on his contract renewal with the Parisians in a desire to reunite with Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Earlier this season, the Brazilian reportedly agreed on a new contract with PSG but now decides to leave.

The 29-year-old player is rethinking to return to Barcelona since the French Giants lost to Lille in Ligue 1 match held on Saturday.

Previously the Brazil star was convinced that Messi would move to PSG after his Barcelona contract would expire. But, given the presidency of Joan Laporta at Barcelona, Leo is expected to stay and continue his career at Camp Nou.

“What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch,” Neymar told ESPN

“He can play in my place, I have no problem with that! But I want to play with him next year, for sure. We have to do it next season,” he added.

Neymar arrived at PSG from Barcelona for a €222 million transfer in 2017 and has scored 53 goals in 65 competitive games.

Writing about football is one of my favorite things to do. As a football writer, I love the rush of being in the stadium on game day and watching all the action live. It's like no other feeling for me. I'm passionate about writing about it, but until recently I've been doing it as a hobby rather than a profession.
