Inter is negotiating a new deal for midfielder Nicol Barella, according to sources and will grant him the captaincy in the future.
According to the Corriere della Sera, the Nerazzurri are willing to keep the young Italy international happy in case major overseas clubs come calling.
Barella, who turned 24 just a few months ago, has already established himself as one of the team’s true leaders and is flourishing at San Siro.
He joined the club from Cagliari in 2019 for €40 million and is now under contract for €2.5 million a season.
Plans are to almost double that to €4.5 million per season, according to the Corriere della Sera.
