Mark Gonzalez suffered a heart attack, Liverpool wishes quick recovery

Former Liverpool player and Chile international, Mark Gonzalez has suffered a heart attack and is recovering in hospital, reported the player’s wife.

In 2005 when Rafa Benitez decided to sign him from Albacete for £2.25 million, the 36-year-old joined the Merseyside club.

The Chilean retired last year featuring in 25 league games for Liverpool, as well as appearances for Real Sociedad, Real Betis, and CSKA Moscow, among others.

Liverpool sent best wishes on Twitter to Mark Gonzalez for a quick recovery.
