Man City vs PSG – prediction, lineup, and team news

At the Etihad on Tuesday night, Manchester City prepares to face Paris Saint-Germain for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final, with Istanbul squarely in their sights. In the first leg at the Parc des Princes last week Pep Guardiola’s side won 2-1, despite a header from Marquinhos being canceled out by goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez. Here is everything you need to know about Man City vs PSG lineup and prediction.

Team news

Manchester City lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko; Rodri, Gundogan, Silva; Mahrez, De Bruyne, Foden

For the second time this season, Manchester City has a fully healthy team to choose from ahead of PSG’s visit.

Just two players who started from the start at Selhurst Park last week – Ederson and Rodri – can hold their places here. The introduction of Oleksandr Zinchenko will the only improvement for Guardiola’s side that ended the 2-1 first-leg win.

Kevin De Bruyne will start as a false nine, but Ferran Torres and Sergio Aguero both scored in London and will be vying for a starting spot.

PSG lineup: Navas; Florenzi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Bakker; Paredes, Herrera; Di Maria, Verratti, Neymar; Mbappe

Midfielder Idrissa Gueye is suspended from the team after he was shown a red card in Paris last week, with Ander Herrera and Danilo Pereira vying for a spot alongside Leandro Paredes at the base of the midfield.

Juan Bernat is ruled from the French team, but the visitors are more worried about the possible absence of talisman Kylian Mbappe.

Mauricio Pochettino will give Mbappe every chance to prove his fitness after he missed the 2-1 victory over Lens due to a calf problem.

While Pochettino could still call up Julian Draxler and have Neymar, who scored and assisted on Saturday, spearhead the offensive, Mauro Icardi could take place in the starting lineup if Mbappe is ruled out.

Man City vs PSG Prediction

To win the first leg in Paris, Manchester City came from behind last week, thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez. City’s most recent game at the Etihad Stadium ended in a 2-1 loss to Leeds, and two of their three home defeats this season have occurred in the last five games in Manchester.

With a 2-1 victory over Lens, PSG bounced back from their first-leg defeat to keep their championship hopes alive. The Parisian powerhouse has been outstanding on the road, winning all ten of their away games since February, and eight of those victories will have been enough to see them pass City and into the Champions League final.

The predicted return of Mbappe would be a big boost to PSG’s goal-scoring exploits, but a well-rested attacking contingent on City’s end will be difficult to handle for any defense in the game, so we expect a close affair to end in a tie as City book their plane tickets to Istanbul.

Our Prediction: Manchester City 1 – 1 PSG
