Karim Benzema: Ronaldo’s exit from Real Madrid allowed me to play a slightly different role

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has recalled the time when he played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, who now plays for Juventus.

“I would be very happy next to Cristiano. The only thing I will say is that his departure allowed me to play a slightly different role on the pitch. He was scoring 50-60 goals a year, so I had to adapt,” said the Frenchman to El Pais.

“Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world.”

Benzema and Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009. The Portuguese moved to Juventus in the summer of 2018.
