Juventus goalkeeper excluded for one game

The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the Federal Prosecutor’s appeal and suspended Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon for one match.

The Turin derby will be missed by the veteran goalkeeper after being excluded for “blasphemy” during the match against Parma.

Buffon was also fined €5,000 for using a “blasphemous gesture” during the December 19 match against the Gialloblu.

“The Federal Court of Appeal upheld the appeal of the Federal Prosecutor, inflicting one match of disqualification on Gianluigi Buffon,” the statement read.

“The Juventus goalkeeper, sanctioned by the National Federal Court with a fine of €5,000, had been referred for having uttered a sentence containing a blasphemous expression during the match against Parma last December 19.”
