Andrea Pirlo on Champions League: Hopefully next year we will make up for it

Juventus head coach Andrea Pirlo commented on the criticism heaped on Cristiano Ronaldo after the 3-2 defeat to Porto.

In a conversation with Striscia La Notizia Pirlo also spoke on his team’s poor showing in the Champions League this season.

“Hopefully next year we will make up for it.”

On Ronaldo

“It’s not just about him. We’ve made other mistakes which have cost us promotion to the next round. I will leave journalists to pass verdicts on Ronaldo.”

“For me, he will always be a real seven. It’s his number on the shirt.” 

Juventus crashed out of the Champions League in the 1/8 finals, losing to Porto (1-2, 3-2).
