The European Super League suffered a setback on Wednesday when eight of the 12 clubs decided to withdraw from the league and looks to be broken. Six clubs from the English Premier League (EPL) Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham have confirmed the 20 teams to withdraw from the European Super League, after which the European Super League announced that it would resume the project. Shortly after sometime Italy’s Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Spanish club Atlético Madrid also decided to withdraw from the league. Fans, leaders, football officials had put up a lot of pressure on these clubs to withdraw from the Super League and this league was also being criticized everywhere.

The Super League said on Wednesday that, given the prevailing circumstances, we will reconsider the most appropriate steps to resume the project. Our aim is to develop this game. It is also our goal to overcome the financial difficulties of the entire football community as a result of the coronavirus epidemic.

However, so far the Spanish club Barcelona and Real Madrid, which are among the 12 founding teams, have not made any official statement regarding the withdrawal from the league. Earlier, a total of 12 top European teams from England, Spain and Italy announced on Monday that they wanted to be their league. It consisted of 20 teams with 15 permanent members.
