Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho has summarized the results of the Europa League 1/16 match against Wolfsberg (4-1).
“We had to play ambitiously and that’s how it turned out. After the first half, the scoreline should have been more than 3-0,” said Mourinho to BBC.
“In the second half we made a mistake and Wolfsberger had a chance. It was similar to the game against Everton (4-5). When you control the game and suddenly make a mistake, it gives the opponents a chance to save, the game can change. We got through it in this episode. But we could have made it 2-3.”
“We confidently controlled the game, created many chances. I think the last goal almost sealed the fate of the encounter. 4-1 away is a very good result.”
“I don’t think it was a fantastic win, just good and enjoyable. The flight back home will not be the same as it would have been in case of defeat. The same goes for tomorrow’s training session.”
“We managed to give a number of players a rest. Sonny only played 45 minutes.”
