Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, following the Premier League season’s final match on Sunday, led tributes to Michel Vorm and Jan Vertonghen after the duo departed the club.
Both men agreed last month’s short-term contracts to see the extended season and by the end of the year were expected to be out of the contract.
Alderweireld posted on Twitter: “That’s sad to see these two amazing guys leave the club, both excellent players but even better people.”

“We’ve shared innumerable moments I’ll never forget. I wish you all success for your next steps. Keep in touch.”
Striker Harry Kane added: “Wish nothing but the best for them for whatever is ahead for Jan Vertonghen and Michel Vorm. It was a joy to share a dressing room with them and to play with them.”
