It is reported that Arsenal chairman Mikel Arteta is considering leaving Mesut Ozil out of his 25-man Premier League squad.
By October 20 following the end of the summer transfer window, a final squad list must be sent by the Gunners to the Premier League.
Competition rules state that there should be no more than 17 non-homegrown players in that 25-man squad, although Arsenal currently has 19 such players in its ranks since Thomas Partey ‘s arrival from Atletico Madrid on the deadline day.
Therefore, claims, Arteta will be forced to leave two of those out of his squad, unless he sells them to lower-league clubs until October 16 closes the domestic window.
Ozil is one of the players who might be left out, which means that he will be qualified to compete in the Premier League.
From January Ozil will be able to negotiate terms with foreign clubs as his deal at Arsenal expires next summer.
