Graham Potter on Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga suggests that he will not be considering them as their first choice for the goalkeeper position at Chelsea.

Goalkeepers are concerned members for Potter at Chelsea as he faces one of his dilemmas. Currently, Kepa is the answer for Chelsea as the Brighton manager has been having thoughts that the injury of Mendy could bring him down. It may have brought some patience as Mendy’s job has become easy since his injury.

When Potter was asked in a press conference in Pre-Milan season, about the goalkeepers he will choose, Potter referred, “I will not be labeling anybody as number 1 or 2 in the options as if you closely see what we are up to for the next 6 weeks.”

He also added, “Kepa did a phenomenal job against Crystal Palace and I would want him to play at the higher level. He does enjoy his football much and I also would like to support Eddie to get fit again and be ready when he is needed. Eddie was doing amazing and still is the best and we have the best two goalkeepers at hand. I will see the future and let the game decide on what could happen. For now, our goalkeepers are working for us in this good situation,”

Kepa’s posting as the goalkeeper we have seen in Stamford Bridge has also aroused many questions for Mendy. Mendy has always been the first choice for the position however there are questions in recent months we have seen so far. Being unable to cope lately, the Spaniard did play the best in the games we have seen like against Crystal Palace and Red Bull Salzburg.

The visit to Milan is soon and Mendy is now back in training for the last few days that we have seen. Again there will be an argument against Kepa as Mendy will be the choice for the next start of the game against the Wolves on coming Saturday.
