Paris Saint-Germain newcomer Lionel Messi has begun his first training session with the new club at Camp des Loges. The news has been confirmed by the club’s press office reports via Instagram. Kylian Mbappe met Messi in the football training and was ecstatic to see him at PSG on Thursday. Excited Mbappe welcomed Leo to his new home for the next two years.
Lionel Messi joined PSG training yesterday after the unveiling press conference and was greeted warmly by superstar teammate Kylian Mbappe. PSG posted a short video clip to their Instagram story showing Messi going through running drills. Meanwhile, Mbappe shared photos of himself hugging the 34-year-old great on his official Instagram handle. “Welcome to Paris, Leo,” he wrote in the caption.
He further reposted his own post in the story adding the caption “Legend” on his Instagram story. Mbappe was seen training with Messi and other PSG players, however, his future at the club is still tentative. His contract negotiations are now the club’s primary focus.
Paris Saint-Germain star striker Kylian Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid. The Madrid club will offer the striker a 6-year deal and a salary estimated at €25m net annually. A gift has been allocated to him so that he will receive 40 million euros as a signing bonus.
The 22-year-old already knows the personal terms of the future agreement, according to ABC. Earlier, the Parisian club has stated that they won’t let Mbappe go this summer. The current contract of the Frenchman at PSG runs until the summer of 2022.
To offset the cost of Messi’s contract PSG is expected to sell some of their squad members, and a tentative first football transfer was completed on Thursday. Timothee Pembele, an 18-year-old defender who appeared six times for PSG in Ligue 1 last season, has joined Bordeaux on loan until the end of the season.
