Mason Mount, Chelsea midfielder has commented on Frank Lampard’s resignation as head coach of the Blues.
“I’ve been playing for the club for a long time and I’ve seen from the outside coaches leave while I was in the academy, but when you’re playing for the main team and it happens, it feels different,” said Mount to official website of the club.
“It’s something young players haven’t really faced before, but we talk to players like Azpilicueta and also Petr Cech who have been through it and try to build on their experience to deal with it.”
“Lampard has been very important to me. He brought me to Derby, gave me game time and I learnt a lot from him before coming back to Chelsea and continuing to learn.”
“I can only thank him for everything he has given me as a player on and off the pitch. I’ve definitely grown as a player, so he naturally means a lot to me.”
